What is CBD/CBG and what can it be used for?

CBD, which stands for cannabidiol, naturally occurs in high concentrations in hemp and cannabis plants, first discovered in the 1930's but was then mostly put aside until the 1970s, when scientists determined it may be an effective anti-convulsant.

Over the years, research has confirmed many of the therapeutic benefits that CBD offers, including anti-anxiety, anti-nausea, pain relieving and sedative qualities. CBD has also shown to be an effective treatment for severe epilepsy.

In recent years, CBD has become the cannabinoid of choice, not just for the extensive list of therapeutic benefits it offers, but also because it has no psychoactive properties. Unlike THC, CBD offers pain relief and other benefits without the risk of paranoia, anxiety, or impaired cognitive function.

Much like CBD, CBG doesn’t have any of the psychoactive properties of THC. Instead, it offers other therapeutic benefits, including:

● Appetite stimulation

● Anti-cancer properties

● Antibiotic properties

● Potential treatment for MRSA bacterial infections

While the two are very similar, there are far more studies that have been conducted on CBD. Research has found that CBD offers a host of therapeutic benefits, including:

● Pain relief

● Improved sleep

● Lowered stress and anxiety

● Neuroprotective properties

CBD and THC are undoubtedly two of the most well-known cannabinoids. CBD is known for its relaxing, therapeutic effects while THC is known world-wide for its psychoactive effects that cause feelings of euphoria and sometimes confusion. While both CBD and THC have had plenty of time in the spotlight, lesser-known cannabinoids, such as CBG, are capturing interest from consumers and researchers alike.

Initial studies show that CBG may have very similar characteristics of CBD. Both of these cannabinoids have no psychoactive properties. Instead, they offer antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and analgesic properties.

CBD vape juices, also known as CBD e-liquids or CBD vape oil, are liquids containing CBD or CBG that are used in e-cigarettes. These delicious liquids are absolutely crucial to the vaping process whether you vape with refillable or disposable devices. CBD e-liquids are vaporised by the e-cigarette and then inhaled into their lungs where the CBD is infused into the bloodstream.

There is one major advantage to vaping CBD: increased bioavailability. This simply means that more CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream per MG taken. By vaping CBD, not only do you experience delicious flavours, you are actually getting more CBD for your money.

Like CBD, vaping is quite a recent phenomenon, therefore the health effects are not quite fully understood yet. However, it is helpful to note that the NHS has concluded that vaping is 95% healthier than smoking.
